Christian texts from the 12th and 13th centuries condemned homosexuality in the active and passive roles. The offence crime varies, and the punishment was given accord- ing to the severity of the offence. As it is stated in the law, if a man uses the words ragan (ragr), stroðinn or sorðinn the penalty is outlawry.
