During the summer, the bar spills out onto the large terrace, with DJs spinning tracks from tents on the street and hunky topless men promoting themselves and the super clubs. Some parties have specific themes like Red Light, Matinée Gold, and La Leche, but all promise crazy fun.
La Troya – If Matinée doesn’t wear you out, La Troya follows every Sunday at Amnesia during the summer.

Small hotel in a quiet side street in Ibiza town, very close to both the beach and the nightlife in the old town.
The hotel has 63 rooms and 55 apartments, with free Wi-Fi in public areas. The gorgeous rooftop pool and bar serve specialty cocktails, and their beauty center offers treatments and massages for extra relaxation.
La Finca Ibiza – This historic, gay-friendly guesthouse offers ten one- and two-room apartments located just 3 kilometers from Ibiza’s center.
It boasts breathtaking views, azure blue waters, and a sunset that rivals any on the island. The most popular spot is in front of Chiringay, a well-known restaurant and bar. It offers incredible views and is a fun option, especially if you’ve never tried it before. Again you'll need a car or taxi to get there, which keeps away the tourist hordes.
Gay Events in Ibiza
Ibiza Gay Pride – Ibiza loves a good party, so it’s no surprise that its Pride events are both fun and messy.
Official languages are Catalan (the predominant accent on the island is called eivissenc) and Castilian (Spanish). It's also the first (or last, depending on where you're coming from) bar on the street, making it easier to access when the strip is packed with every gay in the city.
Lola’s – This long-running, small club was the first on the island, open since 1965.
The latter were particularly inspired by the cubic, single-story design of Ibiza's old farmhouses. Travel to the island is easy by ferry, which departs from the Ibiza port approximately every 30 minutes during the high season and arrives in about 40 minutes. Taking place in mid-June, the celebrations include special parties and venues, a fashion show, art and photography exhibitions, documentaries, and, of course, a small but energetic Pride Parade.
Upon arriving at the airport, there are a few bus lines available for about €4.
The house and techno scene, as well as the aforementioned hippies and dropouts, have contributed greatly to the fact that Ibiza has been considered a particularly gay-friendly destination for decades. The sand dunes behind the beach are known as a cruising area, or somewhere to take a friend you’ve made on the beach.
There's a lively atmosphere year-round, and during the summer, parades promoting the super clubs pass through, making it one of the best places to score a wristband for cheaper entry to clubs like Amnesia. The gays have always been upfront at that party—aren't we always—and to this day, the small island remains a firm favorite for LGBTQ+ holiday makers looking to have some fun in the sun.
But Ibiza is about more than just the super clubs and parties.
Seafood lovers, be sure to order the Parrillada de Pescado—you won’t regret it!
Ibiza Gay Bars and Clubs
Bar Angelo Ibiza – Known as one of the best cocktail bars in Ibiza, this gay-owned spot features a huge terrace where trendy locals mix with tourists looking for Sex on the Beach… and the cocktail, too.
Dining on the outdoor terrace with views of gorgeous men tanning seaside is practically its own dessert.
El Chiringuito de Cala Gracioneta – Tucked away in a secretive cove with a view of the bay of Cala Gracioneta, El Chiringuito offers an inspiring dining experience.
The first tourists came to the island as early as the 1930s – before the Spanish Civil War and the long years of Franco's dictatorship –, including intellectuals such as the cultural critic Walter Benjamin, the Dadaist artist Raoul Hausmann, the architect Le Corbusier and Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius.
This clifftop sanctuary, where contemporary design meets Balearic tradition, offers an intimate escape in one of the island’s most remote and spectacular locations. Grab a drink, take a photo, and head out to the street, where all the gays gather to mingle with both tourists and locals.
Dado – The second-largest bar on Calle de la Virgen often has cheaper cocktail deals than its neighbors.
