It was purely an in-the-moment thing, the level of comfort and security I felt around [my team], and the topics of conversation that had previously been discussed that evening was certainly a big factor in that.

LS: I worked on a small boat where I was very, very close-knit with the people I was working with onboard, so it wasn't a case of being able to avoid that person and that person was the person in charge. It depends on where I am. The initial response from Katie [Flood] was just so, so, so supportive, and then to have pretty much the rest of the crew all just come over at that moment and give me that level of support.
But I think the greatest thing was when I woke up in the morning and I was exceptionally worried about it.
"So, I'm just not thinking about it."

LS: The word inspiring comes to mind. It's the episode that I was most worried about airing. Stream it the next day on Peacock.
During his appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on October 4 (clip above), Lloyd described the outpouring of support he received from fans after speaking about his personal life on the show during an emotional night off with the crew.
It was pretty full-on from the minute I woke up to the minute I went to bed.
It wasn't a very nice person, not in normal terms: wouldn't say good morning, was exceptionally rude. He continued to reassure Spencer by saying “we need more people like you in the world” and “everyone here accepts you for everything you are.”
Spencer says he was “inspired” by everyone’s response.

People may be a bit more than others and I certainly have my experiences where I've been up and down on that. Absolutely nothing changed onboard and they all continued then and they're continuing now to offer me the same level of support. Obviously I've got my own memory of it, I've got the memory of the others that were there, but it was especially daunting leading up to this episode.
